A Lamp in the Darkness

Every day, we read about crime, corruption and all kinds of human wickedness. With the decline in morals at every level of society, it seems as though there is no hope. Even children are affected by the spirit of this age. Teachers have a hard time maintaining discipline in the classroom and some even find it difficult to teach because unruly students disrupt their class.

Children's Ministry coordinator Khoo Siew Choo has been thinking about this problem for some time. She came up with a program called Xiao Ming Deng (The Little Lamp) but it only really took off last year. What is Xiao Ming Deng about?

Vision 2020

Choices, choices, choices!

From the moment we awake, we have to make choices: whether to get out of bed or to continue sleeping; whether to have breakfast and if yes, what to eat; what to wear and so on. The objective of Vision 2020 is to raise up a generation of influencers for Christ (IfCs) who will have a positive influence on those they come into contact with. I'd like to consider a few areas in which we can be IfCs.

When I observe my children, disciples and protégés interacting, their conversations are painful to my ears and cause me to reevaluate my own speech and conduct.

Be an influencer for Christ (IFC)

In Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus challenges us to be salt and light--to influence the world. Find out more how you can be an influencer for Christ-- a growing believer who lives in the power of the Holy Spirit and actively seeks to live out God's calling as salt and light everywhere.
